A compilation and categorization of multiple sequence alignment resources

Anchored DIALIGN

Tool nameAnchored DIALIGN
URLhttp://dialign.gobics.de/anchor/submission.php
Important featuresCalculates protein and nucleic-acid alignments under a set of user-specified constraints. If the user has some expert knowledge about a certain domain that is present in all of the input sequences; user can enter them as the anchor points. Other sequences will be aligned automatically.
CitationsMichael Brudno1 , Michael Chapman , Berthold Gottgens , Serafim Batzoglou and Burkhard Morgenstern. Fast and sensitive multiple alignment of large genomic sequences. BMC Bioinformatics 2003, 4:66doi:10.1186/1471-2105-4 66
Year of publication2003
Rank by usage frequency100
CommentsDIALIGN constructs alignments from gapfree pairs of segments of the sequences (fragments). It also gives relative degree of similarity within an alignment using a score.
